Roadmap For Easing Restrictions To Be Announced By Close Of Week – Akufo-Addo

The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo says stakeholders consultations on easing restrictions are underway.

Delivering a speech at the 2020 Virtual Eid ul Fitr Celebration, the President said the consultations which are currently ongoing will come to an end by the close of the week to help government find ways of easing restrictions.

“Stakeholder consultations are taking place on the way forward towards the easing of restrictions so that our social and economic lives can go back to normal.

“I expect these consultations to conclude this week, so that I can announce to Ghanaians a clear roadmap for easing the restrictions. We have to find a way back, but in safety, for we cannot be under these restrictions forever.”

The president said this in response to debate about the appropriate time for schools to reopen as a result of coronavirus.

As a measure to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the country, schools in Ghana were closed in March 2020.

The president also place ban on all public gatherings including religious and social gatherings on March 15.
