How it happened

In February 2020, Fomena NPP Constituency Chairman led a decision to make the MP a one-timer, according to a report by Ghanaweb.

He, together with his executives and over 300 delegates took a decision to vouched for Philip Ofori Asante a.k.a POFA as their favorite ahead of the NPP Primaries.

This MP is very dumb; I will resign from the chairmanship if he is able to get 40 votes at the primaries; if he tries to influence the delegates with money, then I’m ready to pay GHC 15,000 if he gives them GHC 5000”, Chairman Akwasi Anti Asamoah told the press.

They sited disunity, disrespect and an attempt to tamper with the voter album among other things as their reasons.

Lawyer Amoako Assiamah will then become the third person in a role to suffer such a decision.
