Don’t Use Printed Fabric As Nose Mask – FDA

The head of Department, Medical Devices (FDA) has urged Ghanaians to stop using printed fabric as nose mask to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

According to him, printed fabrics are chemically made which shouldn’t be inhaled into the body. As a measure to halt the spread of Coronavirus, nose mask and hand sanitizers are to be used. Mr Joseph Bennie stressed that they must meet the standards of the FDA.

“I’m pleading with all Ghanaians to practice the use of nose masks and anyone who wants to manufacture nose mask must seek the approval from the Food and Drugs Authority before the manufacture certified nose masks”.

“Printed fabric must not be used for nose masks because it contains chemicals which harmful when the fabric is in direct contact to the face, so I suggest plain fabric must be used for nose masks” he added.
