Dag Heward-Mills blames Akufo-Addo for the increase in COVID-19 cases

Bishop Dag Heward-Mills who is the founder and leader of Lighthouse Chapel International has stirred controversy on social media after blaming President Nana Akuffo Addo for the rise in coronavirus cases.

Bishop Heward-Mills in a recent video indicated that President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government was partly to blame for the increase in the number of COVID-19.

According to him, the government had ignored his call for a border closure a week before COVID-19 first entered Ghana.

Explaining further, Heward-Mills pointed out that the Ghana Charismatic Bishops’ Conference had made predictions about COVID-19 and gave directives on how it should be managed especially by closing the borders.

But the government did not heed to the advice. Should they have listened to them, the cases of COVID-19 would not have been this much in the country.

“When even this pandemic started, I said ‘Close the border now! Don’t just close churches! Close everything now!. They didn’t do it.

All the cases we have and all the deaths have come from that one week that they left the border open, ” Heward-Mills stated.

The Lighthouse founder’s statement came after Ghana’s number of cases moved to 566 with eight deaths.
