Covid-19: Shatta Wale Praises Akufo-Addo for Granting Amnesty to Prisoners

Dancehall artist Shatta Wale has showered Praises on President of Ghana, H.E Akufo-Addo for granting amnesty to deserving prisoners.

Upon recommendation by prisons service on measures to fight Covid-19, the President in accordance with Article 72 (1) of the constitution, President Akufo-Addo granted Amnesty to 808 prisoners yesterday 26th March, 2020.

As at day close 26th March, Ghana had recorded a total of 132 positive cases of the virus, 3 deaths and 1 recovered.

The Dancehall king had already donated over 1000 sanitizers to citizens as a measure of preventing the virus.

Shatta Wale upon analysing the importance of the Amnesty granted by the President, he deemed it as beneficial to the country at large as measures to reduce the spread of the pandemic virus in Ghana.

Shatta Wale started a campaign and called on the government to release some prisoners as there has been restrictions on public gatherings as a measure of reduce the spread of the virus.
