Anas Drops Full Video Of ‘Cashing In On COVID-19’ Exposé

10/08/2020

Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has delivered yet again another shocking exposé on COVID-19 in ghana.

The video which was officially released by BBC Eye Africa had two medical staffs at Ridge Hospital namely Thomas Osei and Divine Kumordzi selling PPEs which are supposed to be given out to the frontline  workers against the virus.

In Ghana, more than 2000 health workers have passed on in the fight against COVID-19 whilst some  dubious citizens keep cashing in on the virus inspite of the consequences afterwards. Who knows how many of those late health workers could have been saved by those PPEs which were stored and sold to civilians?

A short excerpt of the video released by TigerEye shows the two staff selling these items. One Mr. Thomas Osei was filmed selling Face shields and protective gowns whilst Mr. Divine Kumodzi also sold face masks.

According the Hospital’s statement, “Thomas Osei is serving a two-week suspension without salary for the inappropriate and unauthorized sale of PPEs on the hospital premises”.

They further stated that, “Mr Divine Kumordzi would refund all monies realized with regards to the unauthorized and inappropriate sale of face masks on the hospital premises. He is also serving a two weeks suspension without salary.”

The statement added that, the prescribed sanction is in line with the provisions of the Ghana health service Code of Conducts and Disciplinary Procedures.

The hospital authorities sound a strong caution to all staff to desist from such acts and abide by the rules and regulations governing the hospital.
