2020 Election: Thousands in Tamale Demonstrate against election results (Videos)

11/12/2020

Thousands of people who are supposedly supporters of the NDC have thronged to the streets of Tamale to demonstrate against the 2020 election results.

This comes barely an hour after the flagbearer of the party Mr Mahama addressed the nation and stated categorically that he is not accepting the results of a ‘flawed election.’

“We will not accept anything short of a declaration of the legitimate results which points to an NDC Parliamentary majority. We will not accept a flawed election,” Mr Mahama said.

Following that, videos available to us give an account of demonstrators burning tyres and blocking major roads in the Tamale metropolis to register their displeasure over the outcome of the just-ended election and the declaration of Nana Akufo-Addo as president-elect.

President Akufo Addo emerged victorious with a slim majority in parliament as announced by the EC o Wednesday. NPP supporters thronged unto the street to celebrate their election victory.

However, according to the EC, President Akufo Addo had 51.31% as against former President Mahama who had 47.36%.

Meanwhile, John Mahama has said he will not accept the results of the election.
