The midfielder scored 79 goals in 316 appearances for Man City, including the winner in the 2011 FA Cup final. He helped them win three Premier League titles and two League Cup crowns.

He also plied his trade for Monaco and Barcelona in his prime, playing a pivotal role in helping the Catalan club win a La Liga title and the Champions League in 2009.

The four-time African footballer of the year earned 101 caps for Ivory Coast, representing the nation at 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup tournaments. He also captained them to the African Cup of Nations glory in 2015.

He has not played since having his contract at Greek side Olympiakos terminated in December 2018.
