According to checks made by Vibeweek.com as against the earlier reports by Blogger & Radio Presenter, NYDJ, Shatta Wale can technically be referred to as a Nominee.

In 2016, “Views”, an album by Canadian rapper, Drake was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Album of the Year category with which Nigerian Singer, Wizkid was a nominee for his minor contribution to the Album as a featured Artist. In 2019, Burna Boy was also mentioned as a nominee for his minor contribution to “MANIA”, a Rock Album by Fall Out Boy.

As a result, Shatta Wale’s contribution to Beyonce’s “The Lion King:The Gift” Album has earned him a nomination automatically.

NYDJ, earlier took to twitter to reveal Shatta Wale cannot be a nominee because he did not contribute to 51% playing time on the Album. He bragged about receiving an email from the communication department of the Recording Academy that states Shatta Wale cannot be referred to as a nominee for the 62nd Grammy Award.

There has been numerous calls to NYDJ to publicly reveal the email from the Recording Academy that stated otherwise.

Any updates will be duly communicated to our readers.
