Announced yesterday, June 24 by the National Election Committee of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), voting date for the election of new executives into the union’s office has been postponed from June 26 to July 10.

News about the rescheduling of events comes as a result of the limited time posed on the Electoral Commission of Ghana in supervising the voters’ registration in aid of the 2020 presidential elections. ECG, who will supervise MUSIGA’s elections to ensure free and fair coordination of events and results has asked for ample time so as to deliver as promised.

Smart Nkansah, Chairman of the committee has also assured members of the Union of the maintenance of a free and fair election regardless the change in time and date. Eight portfolios will however be contested in this year’s elections with three of them; treasurer, organizer and welfare officer going unopposed.

In contest for President are; Bessa Simons and Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi. Lynx entertainment CEO and music producer Richard Karikari Mensah, popularly called Richie, is also in the race for 1st Vice President, contested by Rev Dr. Harry Thomas Yawson.
